Microwave on full power with a tour and new album

Atlanta’s Microwave had better get ready for a busy Autumn. Their third album, Death Is A Warm Blanket, is coming out on September 13 and they’ll be heading to the UK just a week later to support Tiny Parts on tour.Despite their pessimistic view on the sobering realities of adulthood – including declining health, current events and money worries – Microwave’s sound is somehow comforting in its recreation of ’90s alternative rock, with a jolt of hardcore aggression for good measure.

Microwave have released two singles simultaneously to showcase the range of their new music. DIAWB is an aural assault just the right side of melodic, reminiscent of Deftones.

Carry is more mellow and lyrically driven but still possesses a strong beat and guitar work.

You can catch Microwave in the UK supporting Tiny Moving Parts:

September 21: 1865, Southampton
September 22: The Globe, Cardiff
September 24: Grand Social, Dublin
September 25: Academy 3, Manchester
September 26: Slay, Glasgow
September 27: Institute 2, Birmingham
September 28: O2 Academy Islington, London

The album Death Is A Warm Blanket will be out on Pure Noise Records on September 13 but it’s available for pre-order now. Head to Microwave’s website quick smart if you want a limited-edition coloured vinyl as some of the variants have sold out already.

After that, you can check out Pure Noise’s other recent signing, Derek Ted.
