Hello Cosmos are back with another artistic animation

As we’ve just featured Manchester folktronica collective Granfalloon and the creative music video released by The Fantastic Terrors it seems like the perfect time to combine the two. Hello Cosmos are a Manchester collective with a growing line in incredibly creative videos!

The title track of their Run For President EP came with a dynamic, dystopian call to arms video.

Now, Hello Cosmos are back with another thought-provoking animation. The videos have a unified feel as they were both created by talented Ukrainian artist, VidsInvader, using his cut-and-paste scavenger style.

BBC 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins is a fan of the song, saying there’s “something addictive about the lead-singer’s voice. A band who go big on statement and protest. A rabble rouser with lovely poppy harmonies that temper the anger.”

The lyrics were inspired during a tour of the Sistine Chapel while listening to music by Lost Colours (to the consternation of the tour guide), while the soundscapes were inspired by Nintendo games sounds.

It was a family affair for the latest single; Robinson chose to collaborate with his brother Simon and his brother-in-law Stephen Hewitt.

However, the Hello Cosmos collective, launched by the award-winning founder of Kendal Calling and Bluedot festivals Ben Robinson, has over 50 musicians to choose from. The EP makes the most of this with guest spots from Girl Sweat, James Smith (Post War Glamour Girls & Cruel World), Emma Mason (Galaxians & Lost Colours), Angela Chan (Lanterns on the Lake & Tomorrow We Sail) & Jack Simpson (Hyde Park Book Club).

Tantalisingly, it includes a remix by Jagz Kooner who is known for Oasis, Kasabian and Soulwax remixes, plus production work with Bjork, Primal Scream, Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers.
