Jason Aldean is back with an innovative video for We Back

Jason Aldean is a king amongst men in the type of country that rules U.S. radio airwaves. He’s not exactly a household name in the UK but back home he’s had 23 number one singles, sold over 18 million albums and his tracks have been streamed over 15 BILLION times! Those stats go some way to explaining why he was named ACM Artist of The Decade, having also won Artist of The Year three times. Here at Music Closeup HQ he’ll always get credit for his gorgeous duet with Kelly Clarkson.

Now, Aldean is back with We Back, the lead single from his upcoming album, 9. The innovative black & white tour video suits the song perfectly, with vivid, dynamic 360-degree footage giving close perspective on swung guitars, the unbelievable scale of the crowd, and even a beer can that was thrown to Aldean during the song and playfully sprayed over the front rows.

The video is a credit to Aldean’s long-time collaborator Shaun Silva, who forged custom mounts for eight 360 cameras to capture the incredible footage

The song itself is a statement of intent marking Aldean’s return to the scene, and is set off with some excellent guitar shredding. Check it out!

As the title of the latest record would suggest, it’s his ninth album. It goes deeper than that for Aldean, though: “It was my baseball number growing up, and it’s just kind of always been my lucky number.”

9 is due out on Macon Music/Broken Bow Records on November 22, 2019.
