Tour News: Larkin Poe are coming back to the UK next May

We were discussing Larkin Poe here at Music Closeup HQ right before this tour was announced so we’re happy to take completely undeserved credit for somehow materialising it into being!

This video for Honey Honey from the duo’s album Venom & Faith is edging towards 100,000 views so we’re clearly not the only ones intrigued by the sisters’ brand of bluesy roots rock. Elvis Costello, T. Bone Burnett and Conor Oberst have recognised and utilised their talents too.

Following a performance at Black Deer Festival this summer, and just after a slot at the prestigious Byron Bay Blues Festival in Australia, Megan and Rebecca Lovell will play their biggest UK headline show to date at Shepherds Bush Empire on May 7. The extensive tour will also call at France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Czech Republic.

Here are the UK and Ireland dates. Head to Larkin Poe’s website for tickets and more information. :

May 1, 2020: O2 Institute, Birmingham
May 2, 2020: Button Factory, Dublin
May 3, 2020: SWG3, Glasgow
May 5, 2020: Ritz, Manchester
May 6, 2020: SWX, Bristol
May 7, 2020: Shepherds Bush Empire, London

To pass the time until the tour, why not check out their Tip O’ The Hat cover series over on YouTube. Here’s their tribute to Dolly Parton’s masterpiece, Jolene.

Venom & Faith is out now on Tricki-Woo.
