The Squeeze and Billy Bragg tour in November and December 2026 will be the most ambitious tour of Squeeze’s 53 year career, and it will unite two Ivor Novello award-winning musicians under one bill.

The Squeeze and Billy Bragg tour unites two Ivor Novello award-winners

Founded by by Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook in 1973, Squeeze have built an enviable catalogue of hit pop songs including Up the Junction, Cool For Cats and Another Nail In My Heart. Their work has influenced acts like Lily Allen and The Killers.

Their recent 50th anniversary tour in the UK and U.S. set the stage for this newly announced Squeeze and Billy Bragg tour which includes a massive hometown show at the O2 Arena in London, just three miles from where the band formed.

“We have never sounded better and it feels really special to be looking forward to playing the biggest headline shows of our career.  And having Billy Bragg on the same bill, what’s not to love!”

Glenn Tilbrook

We agree, having previously reviewed Billy Bragg live as delivering “a show that mixed music, politics, current affairs, and humour expertly.”

He’s an artist, activist, author, and award-winning. In 2018, he received the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music – ten years after Squeeze won the same award!

The 2026 Squeeze and Billy Bragg tour will support important charities

Squeeze will once again be supporting the charity Trussell, which provides emergency food and support to people facing hardship, and campaigns for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.

The will be collection points at each venue for fans to donate non-perishable food items, as well as collection buckets for cash donations. The generous donations will be distributed across the 1,400 food bank centres in the Trussell network.

Also, £1 from the sale of every ticket will go towards supporting grassroots music venues, artists and promoters.

This cause is particularly close to Tilbrook’s heart. In fact, he recently became a patron of the Music Venue Trust.

“We must do everything we can to ensure that these buildings are protected from development and the venues safeguarded for generations to come. They are essential, not just for fostering local talent but to ensure that our communities have access to cultural hubs and affordable live music”

Glenn Tilbrook

Music Venue Trust created Music Venue Properties (MVP) which recently purchased The Joiners in Southampton and The Croft in Bristol. That was the latest achievement of their ongoing Own Our Venues initiative, with support from Arts Council England. Once they buy the freehold, they place the venues under community ownership.

Trixies – Squeeze’s ‘lost’ album

Squeeze’s new album, Trixies, will be released on March 6, 2026, via BMG and the pre-sale is on now. In one sense, their newest album is also their oldest. The concept album set in a fictional nightclub was written over 50 years ago when Difford was 19 and Tilbrook was 16.

Difford explains: “We fully committed ourselves to songwriting but this was three or four years before we even got to make our first record. Long story short, these were songs that we just didn’t have enough musical experience to record properly.”

Having now found the original cassette, they were able to realise the musical vision 50 years later. Squeeze’s bassist Owen Biddle (The Roots/John Legend/Al Green) produced Trixies.

“The act of revisiting the Trixies songs had me in tears partly because they’re so good, but also because I’m aware of all the stuff that I’ve still yet to hear and write.”
