An upcoming Julian Taylor tour with Michele Stodart; if that were simply the headliner/support dynamic that would be interesting enough. But that line-up and Michele Stodart, Raevennan Husbandes, and Siân Monaghan as Taylor’s backing band? Now we’re really interested!

What to expect on the UK Julian Taylor tour with Michele Stodart

Acclaimed 5x JUNO-Award and Polaris Music Prize–nominated singer-songwriter Julian Taylor is excited to be return to the UK to share his “soulful Americana, folk rock, and alt-country sound.”

Building on over 25 years of a career in music – from the alt-rock band Staggered Crossing, to the genre-blending Julian Taylor Band, to his acclaimed solo career – the Canadian musician’s deeply personal songwriting is embraced as simultaneously universal and reassuring.

Even better, during the upcoming Julian Taylor tour with Michele Stodart, you’ll get songs and stories of self-discovery, resilience, love loss and healing from both artists.

Don’t Let ‘Em (Get Inside Your Head) single

Julian Taylor recently released the song Don’t Let ‘Em (Get Inside Your Head). It started as an electronic-leaning demo for a potential film TV sync but transformed into a groove-driven anthem during the recording. Taylor explains: “It just seemed to flow out of everyone in the room.”

Back when Taylor was performing at the Robbie Robertson Tribute (directed by Martin Scorsese) at the invitation of longtime friend Allison Russell, he met Jim James of My Morning Jacket. Jump forward a few years and he agreed to collaborate on this new song.

“When this song was almost done, I thought to send it to Jim and see what he thought of it. He loved it, so I asked if he’d be down to sing on it…I love how our voices blend together – it’s effortless and natural. Jim brings a tender urgency to the track, and it’s an honour and real gift to have him singing on it. He’s a true gem of a human and one of the world’s great unique talents.”

– Justin Taylor

The new track will appear on Taylor’s album, Anthology II which is set for release on January 23, 2026.

This Julian Taylor tour with Michele Stodart includes an epic supergroup!

Yeah, we said it: supergroup! Let’s look at the evidence. We’ve got Michele Stodart, the bassist of The Magic Numbers and an award-winning singer-songwriter in her own right. She also has a super-solid background as the musical director of other supergroups, including the AMA-UK America Awards all-star house band and for acclaimed International Women’s Day events over successive years.

Raevennan Husbandes, who will be playing guitar in Justin Taylor’s UK tour band, is also an award-winning singer-songwriter in her own right, plus a multi-instrumentalist.

Finally, there’s Siân Monaghan, an awesome award-winner drummer who plays with She Drew The Gun and China Crisis. She came to prominence in the UK Americana scene when playing with The Wandering Hearts.

“Some of my greatest friends will be joining me on the road. My phenomenal band of soul sisters…these women bring that organic, powerful groove to my soulful Americana, folk rock, and alt-country sound, and there is nothing like playing this music live with them.”
