Throughout their rise to prominence from lockdown to Glastonbury, Gurriers have remained unflinchingly vocal about social ills, threats and injustice. Now back with their second album, Nobody’s Coming To Save You, Gurriers fans in the UK and Ireland have the chance to catch them on tour in October, as well as at outstores held in conjunction with acclaimed independent record stores.

New Gurriers album, Nobody’s Coming To Save You

Formed in Dublin in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, Gurriers’ uncompromising spirit of protest and socially conscious lyrics have propelled them all the way to dominating the stage at huge festival and arena shows along with Kneecap and Turnstile.

Hot on the heels of a blistering summer of festivals, Gurriers are now ready to unleash their next album, Nobody’s Coming To Save You. The band built upon the solid foundation of their debut record but amped up the production, dynamics, urgency and – of course – the message.

New single Party Lines is a case in point. Dance punk beats propel a narrative exposing the hypocrisy and venality of politicians who simultaneously spend on aid and weapons for the same countries. The inspiration behind the track was the escalating conflict in Sudan.

Just like the album’s title track, Party Lines has also been A-Listed by BBC Radio 6 Music. Check out the video directed by Thomas James (Kneecap, Bring Me The Horizon, Young Fathers) here.

The single Nothing Happens Twice explores the ‘Dead Internet Theory.’ Gurriers vocalist Dan Hoff screams a rising sense of disillusionment and disconnection amid the alienation of being surrounded by bots in digital ‘social’ spaces. Nonetheless, the video – once again directed by Thomas James – indicates some belief that you have retained your attention span and sense of curiosity. Its absurdity was influenced by Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot.

The new Gurriers album was recorded at Attica Studios in Donegal and Holy Mountain Studios in London. It was produced by a Mark Bowen (Idles) and Loren Humphrey (Geese, Cameron Winter), alongside engineer Chris Fullard (Idles, Sunn O). The album was mixed by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Modest Mouse, Swans).

Gurriers Outstores

In conjunction with announcing the new album, Gurriers also announced a UK ‘outstore’ record shop tour in September. They will play in Dublin, Edinburgh, Dundee, Liverpool, Nottingham, Cardiff and Oxford by partnering with the vibrant independent music retailers SpindizzyAssai RecordsJacaranda, Rough Trade and Truck Store.

Check out Gurriers’ website to see if you can still grab tickets (including a copy of the new album) or else a spot on the waitlist.
