Grammy-nominated band Deafheaven are celebrating the upcoming release of their sixth studio album new album, Lonely People With Power, with a huge spring and summer tour. After 27 shows in North America, and multiple European festivals, they’ll be playing a festival in Manchester and a stand-alone show in Brighton.

Deafheaven bio
Formed in San Francisco, Deafheaven drew attention from the metal and mainstream press and music fans alike with their breakthrough album in 2013 Sunbather. Rolling Stone ranked it as one of the 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time, while Pitchfork picked it as one of the 200 Best Albums of the 2010s – basically supporting its status as a modern classic.
They continued to challenge and push the genre with 2015’s New Bermuda, then earned a GRAMMY nomination in the Best Metal Performance category in 2018 for the album Ordinary Corrupt Human Love.
Infinite Granite (2021) continued the genre bending even further, with lush and lilting sounds blending metal, post-rock and shoegaze, pointing towards really interesting things to come from the sixth album on the horizon.

New Deafheaven album: Lonely People With Power
Deafheaven’s sixth album, Lonely People With Power, is out on Roadrunner Records on March 28, 2025. It was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen [St. Vincent, M83] and mixed by Zach Weeks of GodCity Studio. You’d better get a wriggle on to buy it. The alternate cover 2xLP variant has already sold out! No worries, the original 2×12″ LP version is a great option, printed on ‘Daydream’ vinyl. The same colour scheme is echoed with a ‘Lagoon’ t-shirt that’s also available in Deafheaven’s online shop.

New singles: Magnolia & Heathen
As well as getting to hear the vocal contributions of Jae Matthews from Boy Harsher and Paul Banks of Interpol on the new Deafheaven album, you’ll get the two latest singles.
The first single, Magnolia, has a music video directed by a Sean Stout and Chelsea Jade.
The second single, Heathen, is more introspective until the passionate harsher vocals break through for the choruses. Definitely a good example of the way that Deafheaven blend shoegaze and metal to great musical and emotional effect.
2025 Tour
The scale of their North American (U.S. plus Toronto, as is typically the case – sorry Canada!) spring tour indicates faith in the allure of the new material and fan demand. They’ll be on the road for an entire month with only five nights off, which will also encompass travel time.
They’ll call in at plenty of classic venues including The Fillmore in San Francisco, Irving Plaza in New York, and our beloved Metro in Chicago. Support will come from Gatecreeper and Trauma Ray.
We’ve not been forgotten, though! After some sweet festival bookings in mainland Europe – including Rock am Ring in Germany – they’ll be heading to the UK in June.
