Zuzu: an incredible year in review

Zuzu

Zuzu definitely made the most of lockdown. She’s an avid gamer so she jumped at the chance to rework her song How It Feels into Simlish for The Sims video game. (Yes, Sims have their own language!) She also wrote music for Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time: Distant Lands.

Zuzu

Of course, Zuzu was keen to get back to playing music live as soon as possible. So keen, in fact, that she was the first artist in the northern hemisphere to perform a full capacity shown when she opened for Blossoms.

She’s been lauded by The Guardian, Clash, The Independent, NME, BBC 6 Music, and even by Tom Grennan when he presented on Radio 1!

Zuzu is a Liverpool musician who defied advice to leave her accent and culture out of her music. She also wears her influences on her sleeve. Literally, in some cases; she has tattoos of her heroes Diana Ross, her mum, Emeline Pankhurst, Winona Ryder, Cruella de Vil, and Audrey Hepburn!

Zuzu’s debut album, Queensway Tunnel, is out now. It has contributions from Kieran Shudall (Circa Waves), Simon Tong (The Verve, Gorillaz), and Red Rum Club, with production from Kurran Karbal.
