Speakeasy Volume 1 lineup

Speakeasy Volume 1

Indie music fanzine Speakeasy will be taking over Bucks Students’ Union in High Wycombe on 11 and 12 December, 2021. Their Speakeasy Volume 1 weekender event will feature Space, My Life Story, Thousand Yard Stare, The Kynd and many more! If that wasn’t enough, Louise Wener from Sleeper will be closing Saturday night out with a DJ set of indie classics!

There will be music across two stages from 3:30 p.m. on Saturday until Wener’s DJ set ends at 1:00 a.m. Completing the Saturday line-up are The Real People, The Institutes, Triple Blind, and Nadia Sheikh. Rising star Sheikh has just released her EP Undefined, produced by Brett Shaw (FOALS, Florence and the Machine).

While enjoying the music, you’ll be tempted by smokehouse barbeque and vegan/vegetarian food, a cocktail bar, and specialist beers and lagers from Brithop Brewing Company!

The Big Breakfast

On Sunday morning, Speakeasy Volume 1 will kick off again at 10:30 a.m. with ‘The Big Breakfast’. You will be able to choose from brunch, prosecco, coffee, and mocktails. Meanwhile, there will be an auction in support of Safe Gigs For Women, a 90s rock ‘n’ roll bingo, and a Q&A with artists from across the weekend. Also, there will be stripped-back set from Tara Milton (Five Thirty/The Nubiles) and a performance by My Life Story.

Bucks Students’ Union is perfect for this kind of event. That’s because the award-winning venue has two stages, two bars, and even a state-of-the-art PA system designed and installed by the same team that fitted out the Albert Hall! It is fully accessible, has free parking, and is just a few minutes away from the town centre.

If you’re quick, you can still get early-bird tickets online for £25 for the entire weekend. That means it’s only £25 for two days of live music plus an indie DJ set. Once the early-bird tickets are sold, general tickets will be £30.

The Venue: Bucks Students’ Union, Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe, Bucks, HP11 2JZ.
