January 8, 2022, would have been David Bowie’s 75th birthday. To mark the milestone, celebrities are joining A Bowie Celebration livestream. The online event will feature Duran Duran, Def Leppard, Rob Thomas, Noel Gallagher, Gary Oldman and many more! It will be available online for 24 hours. Some of the ticket sales will go to Save The Children, an organisation close to Bowie’s heart.
As this year marks the 35th anniversary of the Jim Henson/David Bowie collaboration on the film Labryinth, this special event will also include a special performance by actress Evan Rachel Wood and an appearance by Brian Henson.
The show will be dedicated to Bowie photographer Mick Rock, including never-before-seen footage. Meanwhile, the band will be led by Bowie’s most frequent band member Mike Garson, and will feature other band members including Earl Slick, Alan Childs, Stan Harrison, and Carmine Rojas – to name but a few.
The livestream will begin at 2:00 a.m. GMT (6 p.m. PST) on Saturday, January 8, 2022, and will be online for 24 hours. Ticket options include a VIP bundle with exclusive merchandise and opportunities, such as a virtual Q&A with band members. Tickets for A Bowie Celebration are available now.
