Country music fans rejoice; the Country Music Association (CMA) have spoken! The CMA Songwriters Series will return to indigo at The O2 on March 10, 2022.
This continues the tradition of the CMA Songwriters Series kicking off the Country to Country (C2C) Festival weekend in London. The performers for the CMA Songwriters Series 2022 have been confirmed as Russell Dickerson, Shy Carter, Ashley Gorley and Caitlyn Smith, plus special guests. Tickets are on sale now. The two hour event will take a storytellers ‘in-the-round’ format. Each artist will take turns to share their songs and stories.
Jimmie Allen, Brandy Clark, Luke Combs and Maren Morris gave their first UK performances at the CMA Songwriters Series previously. Meet the artists
Caitlyn Smith has written for Garth Brooks, Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton, Jason Aldena, Meghan Trainor and John Legend! Also, she’s a vocalist in her own right, having found success on country radio with her single I Can’t (featuring Old Dominion).
Shy Carter is also a prolific songwriter. His credits include Kane Brown, Sugarland, and Rob Thomas [Editor’s note: two articles featuring Rob Thomas in one day in 2021, what are the chances!] He has also worked with Jason Derulo, Meghan Trainor, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Lopez, and Nelly. Carter’s debut EP, The Rest of Us, came out on October 29, 2021.
Ashley Gorley has written a record 56 No.1 airplay singles, including recent hits by Thomas Rhett, Cole Swindell, and Weezer. In fact, hit artists such as Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Lee Brice and many more have recorded over 300 of his songs. He is an eight-time ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year and four-time Billboard Country Songwriter of the Year.
Russell Dickerson’s debut album spawned three consecutive number 1 hits, including wedding favourite Yours. Then Love You Like I Used To spent a record-breaking 21 weeks on Billboard Country Airplay’s Top 10.
