Acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter Suzie Ungerleider has announced an extensive UK tour. She will be playing songs from her tenth studio album, My Name is Suzie Ungerleider, over 13 concerts in June 2022. Fan favourite songs like Johnstown and Sleepy Little Sailor might well make an appearance too!

Why did Suzie Ungerleider stop performing as Oh Susanna?
Having built a solid reputation as an award-nominated artist known as Oh Susanna, it was a big decision to rebrand after nine albums. It seemed fitting to enlist the tenth record to help spread the message through the album title, My Name is Suzie Ungerleider.
“Here I am, leaving behind the trappings of a persona that gave me the courage to climb up onstage and reveal what is in my heart. It once protected me, but I need to take it off so I can be all of who I am.” The “exciting, dark, funny, charming” character that she thought was Oh Susanna was Suzie Ungerleider all along!”
This realization of, and need for, personal growth coincided with learning that the 1848 song Oh Susanna contained racist lyrics and imagery that she did not want to be associated with.
Now that she hz\s reclaimed her real name and identity, Suzie’s future is looking bright. Don’t worry though, her songs remain delightfully dark! After all, My name is Suzie Ungerleider touches on serious topics like trauma, survival, and identity. The record was released on MVKA on August 13, 2021.
